The Diversity Council logo was designed by Sean Hughes,
Deputy Public Affairs Officer, with the Pearl Harbor Naval
Shipyard. The change from black and white to a vividly colored
rainbow signifies coming from a point of view of seeing
the world narrowly to coming to appreciate differences and
opening up to a new world of possibilities where everyone
benefits. The rainbow grows and the larger front "leans
forward" to signify progress and action. The "soft"
font is teamed with the "rigid" font to again
capture diversity. The spacing of the smaller font signifies
a group of people standing together and, in the upright
formation, to convey a sense of integrity and professionalism.
